Cheers! --PP395

May 27, 2018

HAPPY Memorial Day to all of your in the U.S.A.  Such a wonderful holiday to remember the ones that made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom!   I am forever grateful!

It’s Sunday and it's time for a new challenge at The Paper Players!

Our lovely LeAnne is the hostess and she has a wonderful sketch challenge for all of us!  I think this sketch is fantastic!  I had so many ideas.  Can't wait to see yours.

My card is created on a white card base.  I cut a Berry Blast panel with a stitched rectangle die.  My top rectangle was created with a variety of distress inks on a watercolored panel using the smooshing method.  A few splatters were added with the inks.  I trimmed this with another rectangle stitched die.  I used the Reverse Confetti Clink Cuts for the sentiment and the wine glasses.  I stamped the red wine using Fresh Fig ink and the Clink Stamp Set.  The "Cheers" sentiment was cut with black and then four times in Berry Blast card stock.  I had a scrap of the distress panel left from trimming the rectangle and used it to stamp the rest of the sentiment in black.  A white circle was cut using a stitched die to mount the glasses on.  A few sparkling clear sequins were added to complete my card.

May 26, 2018

It's time for a new challenge at Sketch Saturday!

We have one of our favorites joining us as our sponsor this week.

MMedel Illustrations has generously offered digital stamps of the winner's choice.

Here is sketch #515:

My card is created on a white card base.  I cut an orange panel using a scalloped die for the first layer.  The rectangle plaid strip is cut using the same die.  The top rectangles are cut using turquoise and white.  The white ones are cut with a rectangle stitched die.  The bathing suit and sentiment is from Unity Stamps "It Suits You".  I stamped the suit in black and colored it with Copic Markers.  I added Glossy Accents on the flower for shine. Then I  added a few orange enamel dots to complete my card.

Believe Keeping Christmas

May 25, 2018

I am honored  to be a part of the Keeping Christmas Inspiration Blog Hop.

It's time for this month's installment of Keeping Christmas with The Challenge design team!  We will be sharing Christmas creations on the 25th of each month!!!

The whole idea is to have some Christmas cards and projects in our stash all ready to go for December 2018!

So hop along and be sure to visit each blog.
There is a lot of inspiration and ideas to get your creative juices flowing!

I have owned this folk art Santa for years and still love him.  He is from Papertrey Inks "Believe" stamp set.  I started my cards using the assembly line process.  I cut the Crumb Cake top panel using a stitched SSS rectangle die.  I used the smaller size to cut a frame in each panel.  I used embossing paste and a stencil to create the inside snow.  It gave the snow texture.

While those sections dried, I work on paper piecing the Santa suits. I used a few scraps I found in my stash.  I made two alike and one different.  I used a Copic C1 Marker to add color to the fur and Santa's beard.  The "Believe" is from the same stamp set and stamped in black on each frame.  I thought the card needed more so, I used the Honey Bee Snow Birds set for the snowflakes and white ink to stamp the  snow flakes on the frames.

I decided to mount each one a different card base.  I used Basic Black, Garden Green and Cherry Cobbler for the bases.  The Santa's were adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals.  I found these snowflakes embellishments in my stash.  They are from Tim Holtz. I attached them with glue dots and added a twine bow.  I really think the different colors gives a totally different personality to the Santas.  Which one do you like best?

I sure hope you enjoyed my cards today!  Thanks for stopping by!  Leave a comment and let me know your thoughts.  I love to hear from you!

The hop is hosted by the fabulous Kelly Lunceford's blog, so head over there to start from the beginning.

ENJOY the blog hop!  I hope we inspired you to make a few cards, too!

    Just For You! PP#393

    May 13, 2018

    HAPPY MOTHER'S Day to all the Mom's!  I hope your day is special!

    It’s Sunday and it's time for a new challenge at The Paper Players!

    I am the hostess this week and I have a bold, bright color challenge for all of you!  You know I love vibrant colors and I can't wait to see what you create!  I did use flowers on my card, and I adore flowers, but I hope you will get create and show me some fun ideas!

    My card was created for my Mommy for Mother's Day.  She drinks a lot of tea and loves flowers, so I combined two of her favorites on her card.  My card is created on a white card base.  I used a Crumb Cake background.  It was cut with a scalloped die and embossed with the large polka dot folder.  The cup is from Uniko--I LOVE Tea stamp set.  I fussy cut the cup and then paper pieced a piece of Strawberry Slush card stock for the cup.  I embossed it with the small polka dot folder.  The tea was colored with Copic Markers.  The flowers are cut using the Stampin' Up!  Botanical Blooms framelits.  I love this set!  It makes such gorgeous blooms!   I used all the colors in the color combo for the flowers and leaves.  Candy dots were added inside the flowers.  The sentiment was stamped in black and cut with a banner die.

    It's time for a new challenge at Sketch Saturday!

    We have one of our favorites joining us as sponsor this week.

    The super prize offered this week is
    a digital stamp of the winner's choice.

    ~~~~~~
    Here is sketch #513:
    My card is created on a white card base.  This card is a 5 x 5 square.  I do not own any tennis paper and I found this digital paper on Etsy and copied it  I didn't even know you could do that.  It was so exciting. It is from Sports Printables. I love tennis and this is the only tennis stamp I own.  I beg the stamp companies to come out with some tennis stamps soon!!!!!  I stamped and colored my image using Art Impressions Birthday Love stamp set.  I colored her with Copic Markers and added Wink of Stella for shine.  I used my new Scan N Cut Machine to cut her out.  I used Claire's ABC's stamps from Lawn Fawn to create the "LOVE" sentiment.  The word tennis is stamped using the Your Next Stamp Sports Fanatics Two  stamp set.  A button was added to complete the sketch.
