Hello Spring--Mix It Up Challenge 40

February 25, 2018

I am playing along with the SugarPea Designs Mix It Up Challenge.

I decided to play with the sketch part of the challenge this time.  I already mailed out all my Valentine cards for this year.  I am now busy working on Easter cards.

My card is created on a white card base.  I used purple card stock and a scalloped die to created the first layers.  The second layer was cut using a rectangle stitched die and a piece of Lawn Fawn plaid paper.  A coordinating plaid was cut using the SugarPea Designs Zig Zag Stiched circle dies.  I also used the same dies for the white circle.  This sweet image is from SugarPea Designs.  Easter Blessings was stamped and colored with Copic Markers.  Wink of Stella was added for shine.  Three pearls were added to complete the sketch.

Thank you for stopping by my blog.  I hope your day is extra special!

February 25, 2018

I am playing along with the fun sketch by Amy at Freshly Made Sketches.

My card is created on a Berry Blast card base.  A white layer was embossed with a polka dot embossing folder.  I found this jelly bean paper in my Easter stash and cut the rectangle to match the sketch.  I stamped the image in Memento black ink using the Neat and Tangled Cottontail Cuties stamp set.  I colored her with Copic Makers and cut her out using the matching dies.  Wink of Stella was added for shine  I cut out and egg and the stripes using the Lawn Fawn Happy Hatchling die set.  The sentiment is stamped in black using the Cottontail Cuties set.

I am so glad you stopped by my blog today!

Have a fantastic week!

Hey Chickie -- FabFri131

February 25, 2018

I am playing along with the Fab Friday Challenge.  Their sketch was perfect for the card I wanted to create.

My card is created on a white card base.  I used a scalloped border die to cut the Wisteria Wonder card stock for my background.  The banner was cut with Lawn Fawn plaid paper.  The little girl is stamped using the Cottontail Cuties stamp set by Neat and Tangled.  I colored her and the wagon/eggs with Copic Markers and cut them out using the matching dies.  I cut a white egg die to place behind the girl.  I popped her up with dimensionals.  A Baker's Twine bow was added to the top to complete the sketch!  If you see a little wet drop at the top of my card, it was sprinkling outside when I took my picture.  LOL!  I was trying to get the pictures taken before it starting raining.

Thanks for stopping by my blog!  Have a wonderful week!

Wishing You Joy---Keeping Christmas

February 25, 2018

I am honored  to be a part of the Keeping Christmas Inspiration Blog Hop.

The team and I have decided to do a monthly Keeping Christmas Inspiration Hop! We will be sharing Christmas creations on the 25th of each month!!!

The whole idea is to have some Christmas cards and projects in our stash all ready to go for December 2018!

So hop along and be sure to visit each blog.
There is a lot of inspiration and ideas to get your creative juices flowing!

I really enjoyed creating my cards.  I don't usually do multiple cards of the same creation, but this time they all seemed different to me.  I guess you could say they all had a different personality!  LOL!
I started by choosing four colors for my backgrounds.  I used Marina Mist, Tempting Turquoise, Garden Green and Real Red.

I stamped the Penny Black Mosaic Patterned stamp in Versa Mark Ink and heat embossed it in white powder on the four colors and trimmed the panels to 3 3/4 X 5.  Using the Stampin' Up! Large Letters Framelits  I cut out the word JOY on each panel.  I cut the word JOY five more times in each color to fill in the negative space.

The "Wishing You" was created on matching colors using Versa Mark ink and heat embossed with white powder.  The MFT Fishtail Banner die was used to cut out the sentiment.  I created the card bases 4 1/4 X 5 1/2 in each color and the coordinating panel was cut to create the layers.

Before adhering to the layers, I wrapped white Baker's twine around the card three time.  The letters were filled in the negative spaces and a bow and button were added for fun!

I sure hope you enjoyed my cards today!  Thanks for stopping by!  Leave a comment and let me know your thoughts.  I love to hear from you!

Now it's time to hop along and check out all the other fabulous posts on the hop. There's sure to be a lot of inspiration and ideas to get your creative juices flowing!  The hop is hosted by the fabulous Kelly Lunceford's blog, so head over there to start from the beginning.

ENJOY the blog hop!  I hope we inspired you to make a few cards, too!

You Leave Me In Stitches--PP381

February 18, 2018

It's time for a new challenge at The Paper Players!

The lovely LeAnne is our hostess this week and she has a fun "Clean and Simple" challenge for all of us!  LeAnne loves sewing and card making, so this is just perfect for her!  We can't wait to see what you create!

OH MY GOODNESS--I know you are thinking this is not a CAS card. You are correct!  I made my card a few days ago and started to write my blog last night and realized I didn't notice the CAS on the challenge picture!  I wrote LeAnne to apologize.  I offered to skip this week, but she said NO!  So, I will share my card and continue to beg forgiveness.

LeAnne might love sewing,  me, not so much!  But, I was so proud of the stitching I did on my card.  I dug through so many boxes of paper looking for something that had to do with sewing.  I loved the paper I found.  I have had it for years.  I know it is by Authenique, but have no idea the name of the pattern.  I also had a set of stamps that I bought years ago at Michael's that had sewing items in it.  I only used it once.  I had a friend that loved sewing and I made a card for her.  I don't know the name of the stamp set either.  I let the paper do all the work, except for stamping the sentiment.  The ribbon, button and hat pin were added and that is why I struggle with CAS!   I thought the finishing touches were perfect and made me smile!

You Are My Sunshine--Sketch Saturday #501

February 17, 2018

It's time for a new challenge at Sketch Saturday!

We have one of our favorites joining us as sponsor this week.
The super prize this week is
two digital stamps of the winner's choice.

My card is created on a white card base.  I rotated the sketch to fit my design.  I added Lemon Twist paper behind this fun piece of  DSP.  I added Bermuda Bay squares (1 1/4" punch)   Then I used a 1 " punch for the Lemon Twist squares.  A pair of sunglasses was stamped and I colored the lenses with Copic Markers and added Glossy Accents for shine.  I cut a sun out of yellow card stock and cut it in half to make the sunshines.

I hope you will join us this week!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today!  Please leave a comment and let me know your thoughts.  I love to hear from you!  Don't forget to check out all the other DT members cards at Sketch Saturday.

My card is created on a Crumb Cake base.  The next layer is  Real Red.  I found this wood grained paper in my stash and used it for the top layer and the heart.  I added a scrap of Valentine script paper on top of the red rectangle.  Twine was wrapped around red rectangle.  The heart is cut using the Simon Says Stamp die Scribble Heart.  The sentiment is from a retired Hero Arts monthly kit.  Such a great masculine card for any special Valentine.

Coffee Possibly Vodka--PP380

February 11, 2018

It's time for another challenge at The Paper Players!

The lovely Laurie is our hostess this week and she has a fantastic color challenge for all of us!

I am also entering my card in the CAS-UAL Fridays
Challenge.  They are all about hearts this week!

I really love this color combo!  Red is my favorite color, so I am always happy when it is in a challenge.  The base card is Crumb Cake the the red scalloped layer is a darker red.  I just received this fabulous coffee set from Cas-ual Fridays.  It is called  Cup of Coffee.  I paper pieced the cup with red and white polka dots and colored the coffee with Copic Markers.  I used the matching Coffee Cup dies for the cup and the "coffee" sentiment.  I cut the word "coffee" four times with red and once with Crumb Cake.  The sentiment is stamped in black on the coffee cup.  The white stitched background is stamped with Stamping Bella Java Spills in Tea Dye distress ink.  I love the way this turned out and can't wait to send it to a special friend that loves coffee and vodka!  LOL!
