Life Is Meant To Be Enjoyed -- Cards In Envy

May 29, 2017

I hope all of you had a wonderful Memorial Day!  I had family over yesterday, so today I got to make a few cards.  I always enjoy time in my "tepee"!

I am playing along with the Cards In Envy challenge.

The theme is favorite color combo-anything goes.
I love red and turquoise together.  I really like all shades of these two colors.  Since I wanted to use distress inks to create the frame and the stripes, I used Cracked Pistachio and Worn Lipstick.  The Worn Lipstick is little more pink, but it still makes me smile.

After creating two distress ink sample papers, I used a MFT Bold Stripes Cover Up die to cut the background.  The circle is cut using SugarPea Designs Zig Zag Stitched Circle dies. I sponged Cracked Pistachio around the edges.  The little girl image and sentiment are from MFT Fun In The Sun stamp set.  I colored the image with Copic Markers and fussy cut it.  I added Wink of Stella for shine.  A few sparkling clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh were added for fun.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!  I hope you had "Fun In The Sun" today!

Save Water, Drink Wine--PP#346

May 28, 2017

Happy Memorial Day weekend to all of you in the U.S.A.!  What a very special weekend it is to honor all of the wonderful men and women who sacrificed their lives for our freedom!  Thank you!

It's Sunday and time for a new challenge at The Paper Players!  Our lovely Laurie is the hostess this week and she has a fabulous sketch for all of us!  We can't wait to see what you create!

My card is created on a white card base.  I used the new Berry Burst card stock from Stampin' Up! for the frame.  I don't know where the frame is from.  Sorry!  I cut a white rectangle and used a square stitched die to cut out the frame.  A scrap of green argyle was used to fill in the square.  I also found a scrap of pink polka dots to cut  the long stitched rectangle.  The wine glasses were cut using the Reverse Confetti Clink dies and the sentiment is from the same set. I stamped the wine glasses in Berry Burst and then fussy cut the wine.  Wink of Stella was added on the wine and a few sparkling clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh were added to complete my card.

Don't forget to check out the fabulous inspirations from our design team and I hope that you will play along with our challenge this week.

Let's Celebrate--FMS289 and PPC245

May 24, 2017

I am playing along with the Freshly Made Sketches challenge.  My friend, Linda is the hostess this week. I loved her sketch and knew just what I wanted to create.  With Memorial Day and Fourth of July right around the corner, I was feeling patriotic today.

The Paper Craft Crew has a Tic-Tac-Toe board this week and I always enjoy playing along.  I used the top row:  Bright Colors-Enamel Embellishments-Sparkle   Everyone loves the Red, White and Blue!

My card is created on a white card base.  I used a set of square pinking dies to cut the red frame and the small piece of fireworks paper.  The flag, fireworks and popsicle were stamped then colored with Copic Markers.  I used the Sunny Studio Stars and Stripes stamp set and the matching dies for these items.  I added Wink of Stella for shine and a few enamel stars for fun.  The sentiment is from the same set.  It is stamped in Memento black ink.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!
Hope you are having a great day!

Happy Birthday--PP #345 and SSC153

May 21, 2017

It's Sunday and time for new challenges at The Paper Players and Sunday Stamps!

Our wonderful Nance is the hostess this week at The Paper Players.  She wants us to create a Clean and Simple card using butterflies.  Butterflies are so beautiful and unique.  We can't wait to see what you create.  Remember a Clean and Simple card should have minimal layers and embellishments with an open design. Sunday Stamps has a beautiful color challenge this week and I knew it would work perfectly for what I wanted to create.  Please use a minimum of 3 of the colors in your creations.  I love when I can combine these two challenges.

My card is created on a white card base.  The background is cut with the MFT Blueprints 20 die set using the new Lemon Lime Twist cardstock  by Stampin' Up!  I just love this color.  I know I am supposed to have minimal layers, so I hope Nance will forgive me.  It just made my watercolored background pop.  The top layer is created on watercolor paper.  I cut it out using the same die set.  I used three Distress inks by Tim Holtz for the watercolored background:  Twisted CitronSalty Ocean and Tumbled Glass. I watered down some of the inks to make the splatters.  The butterflies were created using a retired Stampin' Up! set: Best of Butterflies.  I stamped them in Versa Mark and heat embossed them with white powder.  The butterfly punch by Stampin' Up! was used to cut them out.  I folded them in the center and adhered them with Glossy Accents to my card to give them dimension.  A few sparkling clear sequins were added for shine.  The sentiment is stamped in Memento black ink.

Don't forget to check out the fabulous inspirations from our design team and I hope that you will play along with our challenge this week.

May 14, 2017

Happy Mother's Day to all the Mother's, Mommy's, Mom's, Mum's, and Mama's!  I hope your day is relaxing, restful and very special!

It's Sunday and time for a new challenge at The Paper Players!  I am the hostess this week and I have a bright color challenge for all of you!

Have fun and get creative!  I can't wait to see all of the ideas you can come up with using my color palette!

My card is created on a white card base.  A Pear Pizzazz rectangle was cut using a stitched die.  I cut a white zig zag square using W Plus 9 Pinking Square dies.  The jar, flowers and leaves are stamped with Versa Mark ink.  I embossed them with white embossing powder.  The stamp set is from Newton's Nook Lovely Blooms and the matching dies were used to cut out each piece.  I used a sponge and Tempting Turquoise, Tangerine Tango, Real Red and Pear Pizzazz inks to distress all the pieces.  Wink of Stella and dimensionals were added on the flowers.  A sentiment from SugarPea Designs Caring Critters was stamped in black Memento ink.  Clear sparkling sequins were added for fun.

You Are Sweet--PP #343

May 5, 2017

It's Sunday and time for a new challenge at The Paper Players!

The lovely LeAnne, is our hostess this week!  "Sweet Treats" is the theme for the week.  We can't wait to see all of the different ideas you come up with.  Have fun and get creative!

My first thought was ice cream, but looking through my stamps, I came across this fabulous stamp set from The Stamps of Life.  I have never used it and I knew it would be perfect for this theme.  With summer just around the corner, nothing is better than watermelon on a hot day.

My card is created on a white card base.  I found a piece of DSP with ants all over it.  I knew it was perfect for my background.  I used the SugarPea Designs Zig Zag Stitched Rectangle dies to cut it out.  The sentiment dies and watermelon stamps are from the Watermelon2Stamp set.  I used the matching dies to cut out the pieces and the sentiment.  A few enamel dots were added for fun.

Don't forget to check out the fabulous inspirations from our design team and I hope that you will play along with our challenge this week.
