Tooth Fairy--FM 215 and My Time To Craft #298

June 30, 2015

I can't believe that it is the last day of June!  That means the year is half over.  I wish time would slow down.  It is moving too quickly for me!

Today's card is for a very special girl that has a loose tooth!  (Miss Addison)
I know it is a rite of passage, but oh it makes me sad to think how quickly she is growing and changing.  Children never look the same once they lose the first tooth.

I am entering this card in two challenges.  The Friday Mashup calls for 3 elements and My Time To Craft Challenge featured  the perfect sketch to showcase my tooth fairy.

The stamp set, Fairy Sweet by Sugarpea Designs was colored with a variety of Copic Markers.  I fussy card her and added Wink of Stella all over her wings, wand, hair and tutu for lots of shine and sparkle.

My base card is Whisper White.  (5 X 5) square.  I used a variety of Pink Pirouette papers from the Stampin' Up! paper pack-Subtles.  I cut a white circle with my stitched dies and I also cut a pink and white circle using the next larger  size die.  I then layered the two dies and cut a circle frame out of white to accent the pink circle.  A strip was layered behind the circle and three banners were cut using the same papers.  That is my first element of 3.

I stamped the Tooth Fairy Seal and 3 teeth with Black Versa Fine ink and heat embossed them with clear embossing powder. Lots of Wink of Stella was added on the teeth for extra sparkle.  I fussy cut the seal and the teeth.  I adhered the fairy and the teeth with dimensional tape.

I love the way this card turned out.  I put a lot of love into it for my Granddaughter.  She is so dear to me.

Please leave a cmment and let me know your thoughts.  I love to hear from you!

Have a wonderful rest of the week and holiday weekend!

Hugs,
Claire

It's the Little Things That Make Life Big -PP251

June 28, 2015

I am so glad to be back blogging.  I took a week off to be with my Granddaughters.  We had so much fun!  It was such a busy week and I am tired!  LOL!  I hope to get back in my craft room today!

It's Sunday and time for a new challenge at The Paper Players!  This week the ever so talented, Nance is our hostess.  She has a fantastic sketch for all of us!

My card is created using a white card base.  (5 1/2 X 4 1/4)  The tops layer is a piece of patterned paper from Doddlebug, Patriotic Picnic Paper Pack .  I loved the ants all over it!  Aren't there always ants that appear when eating watermelon outside?  A white circle was cut with my stitched circle dies and adhered on top of the ant paper.  I used the red and white polka dots in the pack to add the strip across the front.  I also used the gray and white polka dots from the same paper pack and cut the end using my snips to make the banner end.

The watermelon boy was colored with Copic Markers.  It is a digit stamp I purchased from Etsy by Deidre Mosher Art.  I added some black gel pen on his nose and freckles.  The sentiment is from the Tim Holtz, Black and White Small Talk Stickers.  Three red candy dots were added for fun!

I am so glad you stopped by my blog today.  Please leave a comment and let me know your thoughts.  I love to hear from you!

Celebrate- Always Playing With Paper-The Challenge #40

June 22, 2015

It's Monday and time to for a new challenge at Always Playing With Paper-The Challenge!  This week we have a Nautical theme challenge!  We can't wait to see what you create!

My card was created for my Grandson Robert.  He will be one in July.  He is such a happy little fellow.  I wanted it to be a bright, fun card filled with lots of love.
This little bear is a digi stamp.  I colored him with Copic Markers and fussy cut him.  I sat him aside and then I played with all the patterns of paper in the Doddlebug Patirotic Picnic pack.  I finally decide which ones I liked together and got to work on the rest of my card.

My base card is white. (5 1/2 X 4 1/4)  The next layer is Real Red. (5 1/4 X 4).
The next layer is the star pattern from the pack.  I added a strip of a different paper in the middle and then added one more paper in blue with white stars.  Red, White and Blue Baker's twine was twisted around the card 3 times.  I mounted a white stitched circle to one side and used foam tape to pop the sailor.  I added a bow of Baker's twine and also found a red button in my stash.  The sentiment was stamped in Versa Mark and heat embossed with Zing, Rouge Embossing powder.  I added 3 enamel dots to finish my card.

Thank you for stopping by my blog today!  I love to hear from you, so please leave a comment!

  • I had so much fun creating my card.  I used the Unforgettable stamp set by WPlus9 Designs for my elephant and sentiment.  I stamped the elephant with Momento ink and colored him with Copic Makers.  I used a piece of white card stock to stamp the sentiment with black Versa Fine ink and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder.  The rest of the paper came from the Paper Studio Pink Navy Paper Pack.  I just love pink and navy together.  I was so excited when I found this pack at Hobby Lobby the other day.  I cut the bottom striped layer and the polka dot layer with the die set from Mama Elephant.  I cut a rectangle of a narrower stripe behind the white rectangle.  Three balloons were cut out with the matching dies from the set.  White Baker's twine was used to wrap around the polka dot layer and also added to the balloons.  A few sparkling clear sequins by Pretty Pink Posh were added for shine.  I love this happy card!
